Nils-Erik Aleberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Billy Stenqvist's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the match, IF Hisingen's goal looked a bit too open when Svante Jonasson came free, but Manfred Sandström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Stenqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Billy Stenqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils-Erik Aleberg was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Sven-Oskar Malmberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Manfred Sandström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Billy Stenqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute Bernt Fransson suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Pontus Ek fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Surahammars IF's protests and gave Pontus Ek a yellow card for diving instead. Pontus Ek kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Billy Stenqvist received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nils-Erik Aleberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Billy Stenqvist slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in IF Hisingen's zone, Svante Jonasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfred Sandström came out of the goal and Svante Jonasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven-Oskar Malmberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manfred Sandström having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Billy Stenqvist in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nils-Erik Aleberg saved Surahammars IF from getting behind. After 34 played minutes Surahammars IF got a freekick which was hit by Svante Jonasson. In the 36th match minute, IF Hisingen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billy Stenqvist to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Billy Stenqvist in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nils-Erik Aleberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44th match minute, Surahammars IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svante Jonasson to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paul Collin during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Pontus Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. That made the score 1-1 after 69 minutes of play. 80 minutes into the match, Surahammars IF's Svante Jonasson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manfred Sandström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manfred Sandström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Oskar Malmberg in the 81st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Oskar Malmberg in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manfred Sandström saved IF Hisingen from getting behind. IF Hisingen were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
