Spectators: 7443 (Terracing: 5583, Seating: 1712, VIP seats: 148) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Roger Linquist kicked off to start the match. Björn Isaksson took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan-Åke Norström. Jan-Åke Norström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Kreta booed when Vännäs BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Isaksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johannes Häger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johannes Häger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jan-Åke Norström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan-Åke Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johannes Häger in the 15th minute of the match. Stig Pihlblad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Svante Josefsson having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Henrik Termander was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kreta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vännäs BK the free kick. In the 19th minute, one of Kreta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kreta. Sven-Åke Larsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jan-Åke Norström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stig Pihlblad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Svante Josefsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vännäs BK's zone, Roger Linquist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Svante Josefsson came out of the goal and Roger Linquist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Isaksson in the 41st minute of play forced Kreta's goalkeeper Jan-Åke Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stig Pihlblad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Johannes Häger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Björn Isaksson made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Kreta's Niklas Lingren got a free kick in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Björn Isaksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vännäs BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Björn Isaksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Åke Norström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Johannes Häger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Jan-Åke Norström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58thth minute of the game Johannes Häger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kreta's Jan-Åke Norström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jan-Åke Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Isaksson in the 59th minute of the match. In the 62ndth minute of the game Björn Isaksson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kreta's Jan-Åke Norström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Johannes Häger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 minutes, Per-Olof Ödmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kreta and the Vännäs BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 82 played minutes Kreta got a freekick which was hit by Per-Olof Ödmann. Björn Isaksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Åke Norström having to interfere. Jan-Åke Norström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johannes Häger in the 94th minute. Vännäs BK's Björn Isaksson got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vännäs BK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
