Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Niklas Söderquist kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the game, Stefan Josefsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC GAIS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sala BF the free kick. In the 4th minute, Stefan Josefsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Niklas Söderquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 10 minutes into the game, Jens-Ola Jernberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sala BF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC GAIS the free kick. In the 11th minute, Jens-Ola Jernberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olov Biörling in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lars Hellqvist saved Sala BF from getting behind. Lennart Sjöman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lars Hellqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Lennart Sjöman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lars Hellqvist having to make a save. Niklas Söderquist received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Holger Wiberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Niklas Söderquist slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 23rd minute. Holger Wiberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Söderquist in the 36th minute of play. After 36 played minutes FC GAIS got a freekick which was hit by Torsten Duset. A collision led to Sala BF getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Sigvard Holmgren hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC GAIS's goalkeeper Holger Wiberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olov Biörling stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Sala BF got a freekick which was hit by John Håning. Stefan Josefsson hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Sven-Ove Hansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 60th minute, Niklas Söderquist made a precise shot to the right of Holger Wiberg. FC GAIS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Holger Wiberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Hansson in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Söderquist in the 68th minute of play forced FC GAIS's goalkeeper Holger Wiberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th match minute, FC GAIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Josefsson to maneuver through the defense. Sven-Ove Hansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Holger Wiberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Ove Hansson in the 73rd minute of play forced FC GAIS's goalkeeper Holger Wiberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Lennart Sjöman notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Sala BF's Lars Hellqvist. Lars Hellqvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jens-Ola Jernberg hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sala BF's Jens-Ola Jernberg got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Niklas Söderquist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Holger Wiberg. FC GAIS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niklas Söderquist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Holger Wiberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Hansson in the 93rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC GAIS's Olov Biörling got a free kick in the 94th minute. A collision led to FC GAIS getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Anthon Nyberg hit a great ball.
