Rengsjö's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åmotfors United the free kick. Ralf Haström kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. When Kevin Stenman came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Åmotfors United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kevin Stenman couldn't finish the play. Henric Allbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Olof Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Per-Olof Nilsson kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Anders Brummer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bo-Erik Möllgren. Åmotfors United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 12th minute, Anders Vall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Rengsjö booed when Åmotfors United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredrik Haglund didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rengsjö's goalkeeper Henric Allbom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Rengsjö's Ragnar Dusett got a free kick in the 20th minute. Per-Olof Nilsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Henric Allbom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fredrik Haglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henric Allbom having to interfere. Alex Kjellman kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Henric Allbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kim Larsfält, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Juhlin in the 38th minute of play forced Åmotfors United's goalkeeper Bo-Erik Möllgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes Åmotfors United got a freekick which was hit by Olle Ström. In the 40th minute of the match Anders Brummer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bo-Erik Möllgren skillfully saved the ball. If Per-Olof Nilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Fredrik Haglund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åmotfors United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fredrik Haglund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kim Larsfält to strike the kick off in the second half. When Anders Vall fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åmotfors United's protests and gave Anders Vall a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 50th minute of the game. One of Åmotfors United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rengsjö:s goal. Per-Olof Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henric Allbom having to interfere. Åmotfors United's Per-Olof Nilsson got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per-Olof Nilsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Henric Allbom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Åmotfors United's Bo-Erik Möllgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Åmotfors United from getting a goal against them. Rengsjö's Henric Allbom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kim Larsfält in the 76th minute of play. Henric Allbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Olof Nilsson in the 77th minute of the match. Ralf Haström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Bo-Erik Möllgren made a huge save. Ingvar Högman hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 92 minutes into the match, Rengsjö's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Larsfält came free, but Henric Allbom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Olle Ström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Åmotfors United's supporters rose to their feet, but Olle Ström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henric Allbom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Åmotfors United lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
