The audience was convinced that Sven-Erik Högberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herman Ahlin was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The Alliance's Bixente Massardier got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that The Alliance were the better team. The Alliance's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
