Bruket BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rottne IF Fotboll the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Bruket BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dick Ljungberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute Folke Käller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell Berggren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kjell Berggren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Lindell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ragnar Ivarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikael Forssell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Göran Törnkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Ivarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Stefan Hellkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rottne IF Fotboll's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Hellkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ragnar Ivarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Rottne IF Fotboll booed when Bruket BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dick Ljungberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Göran Törnkvists short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Ragnar Ivarsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mikael Forssell might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ragnar Ivarsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mikael Forssell ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th minute of the match, Göran Törnkvist tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ragnar Ivarsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Bruket BK's zone, Göran Törnkvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ragnar Ivarsson came out of the goal and Göran Törnkvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Bruket BK getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ivan Lind hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torbjörn Lindell to make the kick off. Kjell Berggren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Käller, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Hegg in the 54th minute of play forced Bruket BK's goalkeeper Ragnar Ivarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjell Berggren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torbjörn Lindell in the 57th minute of the match. Kjell Berggren made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Niklas Törnkvist sent off a good shot on target. Ragnar Ivarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hegg in the 61st minute of play. Ragnar Ivarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Hegg in the 62nd minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Bruket BK's Dick Ljungberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kjell Berggren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Björn Blomqvist hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, one of Rottne IF Fotboll:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rottne IF Fotboll. Kjell Berggren went to the wrong direction when Marc Lagerberg was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a rather tough play, Rottne IF Fotboll's Kurt Hegg got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Torbjörn Lindell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Göran Törnkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ragnar Ivarsson having to interfere. If Torbjörn Lindell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kjell Berggren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torbjörn Lindell in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Göran Törnkvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rottne IF Fotboll fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When Rottne IF Fotboll's Göran Törnkvist in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bruket BK's goalie prevented a goal. Rottne IF Fotboll's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
