The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes of play, Husby FK's Basilio Jerrold made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sven Svensson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jan-Olof Lindgren took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zygmunt Narbut. Zygmunt Narbut dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Zygmunt Narbut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orvar Ugla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sven Svensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilio Jerrold in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Christian Mossberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of A & B United FC booed when Husby FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian Näver didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Gustav Anundsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven Svensson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 31 minutes into the match, Basilio Jerrold had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven Svensson. A & B United FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basilio Jerrold was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. If Agne Ekeberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven Svensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agne Ekeberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Fritz Olofsson charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fritz Olofsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Husby FK booed when A & B United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fritz Olofsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven Svensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basilio Jerrold in the 38th minute of the match. Sven Svensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agne Ekeberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Sven Svensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivar Bergman in the 46th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivar Bergman in the 47th minute of play forced A & B United FC's goalkeeper Sven Svensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan-Olof Lindgren to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivar Bergman got free with Sven Svensson in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sven Svensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agne Ekeberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute of the match, Ivar Bergman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sven Svensson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 65th match minute, A & B United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Nordin to maneuver through the defense. Anthon Jansson's late challenge caught a Husby FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthon Jansson helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as Husby FK's Agne Ekeberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sven Svensson. That made the score 1-6 after 74 minutes of play. Göran Fransson's late challenge caught a A & B United FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Göran Fransson helped the player get up and apologised. 79 minutes into the game, one of Husby FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 81 minutes into the game, Åke Benet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-6. Zygmunt Narbut was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sven Svensson came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Husby FK's Ivar Bergman. But to his dismay, Ivar Bergman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. In the 94th minute Basilio Jerrold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Svensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
