Claes Hedström kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Sundets IF's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Alkvist came free, but Martin Kielstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Kielstedt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arne Alkvist went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 22 minutes into the match, Sundets IF's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Alkvist came free, but Martin Kielstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elias Åkesson hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Martin Kielstedt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Alkvist in the 32nd minute of the match. Sten Eklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Nyström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Valskog fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sten Eklund should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd match minute, Valskog was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Börge Åström to maneuver through the defense. Svante Åkesson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sten Eklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the Valskog defense, Svante Åkesson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sten Eklund. The Valskog fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sten Eklund should have stopped the shot. After having played for 55 minutes, Börge Åström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valskog's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börge Åström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arne Alkvist struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Martin Kielstedt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valskog. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Fred Nyström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sundets IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Fred Nyström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sten Eklund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Elias Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Svante Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute of the match Olof Sjö sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sten Eklund skillfully saved the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Valskog's goal looked a bit too open when Svante Åkesson came free, but Sten Eklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Alkvist in the 80th minute of play forced Sundets IF's goalkeeper Martin Kielstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
