Lakene IFK's Edgar Stephansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svante Lindmark in the 5th minute of play. Stefan Bäck was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 6 minutes into the match. After 7 played minutes Lakene IFK got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Bäck. The long shot by Per-Olof Ekman in the 8th minute really tested Edgar Stephansson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Lakene IFK were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after IFK Sponsor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Viggo Eskilsson took the corner. Fredric Engström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viggo Eskilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 18th minute, Viggo Eskilsson made a precise shot to the right of Fredric Engström. IFK Sponsor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Herbert Forsberg came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the IFK Sponsor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herbert Forsberg couldn't finish the play. Edgar Stephansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svante Lindmark, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgar Stephansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Forsberg in the 26th minute of play. When Sten Ambjörnsson fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lakene IFK's protests and gave Sten Ambjörnsson a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Lakene IFK got a freekick which was hit by Sten Ambjörnsson. Hjalmar Lindqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Viggo Eskilsson hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the match, IFK Sponsor's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Hjeltman came free, but Fredric Engström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric Hjeltman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Engström having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Eric Hjeltman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in IFK Sponsor's zone, Hjalmar Lindqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fredric Engström came out of the goal and Hjalmar Lindqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eric Hjeltman in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fredric Engström saved IFK Sponsor from getting behind. The long shot by Lars Liljeström in the 61st minute really tested Fredric Engström's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Henry Skog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Fredric Engström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Hjalmar Lindqvist kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fredric Engström. That made the score 0-2 in the 69 minute of play. In the 77th minute, Lars Liljeström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 85 played minutes IFK Sponsor got a freekick which was hit by Birger Wallman. Edward Jönsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Stephansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Eric Hjeltman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Fredric Engström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hjalmar Lindqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lakene IFK's Hjalmar Lindqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The IFK Sponsor fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lakene IFK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
