Spectators: 7469 (Terracing: 5603, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Villegas Manzardo kicked off to start the match. If Martin Klementsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Klementsson in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olov Linquist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edvin Forssell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Åke Vinström having to interfere. When Jon Mager fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal FC's protests and gave Jon Mager a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of The Hammers booed when Royal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon Mager didn't get a good kick on the ball. Åke Vinström made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Mats Nilsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 21st minute, Michael Bergkvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olov Linquist was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Villegas Manzardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Åke Vinström was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The Hammers's Olov Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Bergkvist in the 25th minute of play. Michael Bergkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olov Linquist having to interfere. If Martin Klementsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Michael Bergkvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Royal FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 46th minute, Anton Apelkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edvin Forssell struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Åke Vinström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Hammers.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michael Bergkvist to make the kick off. Olov Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Bergkvist in the 55th minute of play. If Michael Bergkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Royal FC's Michael Bergkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Olov Linquist made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Martin Klementsson sent off a good shot on target. Martin Klementsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Olov Linquist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olov Linquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Bergkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Villegas Manzardo in the 71st minute of play forced Royal FC's goalkeeper Åke Vinström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Klementsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Olov Linquist made a huge save. In the 81st minute, Sune Anselius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Åke Vinström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Villegas Manzardo in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of The Hammers booed when Royal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton Apelkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Royal FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
