Christian Brun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickard Fanström, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Stjärnhov IF's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Åkerström came free, but George Phippard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Edwin Ekerot made a precise shot to the right of George Phippard. Stjärnhov IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 15 played minutes Kjell Åkerström rounded Stjärnhov IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. George Phippard made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Kent Asserlind sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd minute, Alvesta FF's Edwin Ekerot ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind George Phippard. George Phippard yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 27th minute, Nils-Emil Bure hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute of the match, Andy Esbjörnsson sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but George Phippard showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Alvesta FF's Kjell Åkerström pulled a muscle in his back after 29 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 30th minute, Torbjörn Lind hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stjärnhov IF's George Phippard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörn Fågel in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Edwin Ekerot got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 36 minutes into the match, Stjärnhov IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ingemar Ivarsson came free, but George Phippard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Ekerot in the 41st minute of play forced Stjärnhov IF's goalkeeper George Phippard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvesta FF's Kent Asserlind was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 42nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Nils-Emil Bure lost his temper 46 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 45th minute, one of Stjärnhov IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Stjärnhov IF. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fredric Colin to strike the kick off in the second half. Stjärnhov IF's George Phippard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Asserlind in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Ivan Pålsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alvesta FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Pålsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute Edwin Ekerot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Phippard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Stjärnhov IF's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Ekerot came free, but George Phippard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Jörn Fågel notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Stjärnhov IF's George Phippard. George Phippard was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kent Asserlind hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. George Phippard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Fågel in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Rickard Fanström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Phippard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kent Asserlind's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Rickard Fanström kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Alvesta FF's Andy Esbjörnsson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Stjärnhov IF. George Phippard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Ekerot in the 83rd minute of play. Edwin Ekerot scored 8-0 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of George Phippard, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fredric Colin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George Phippard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin Ekerot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stjärnhov IF's Fredric Colin got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Alvesta FF were the better team. Alvesta FF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
