A collision led to Minnesbergs IF getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Sune Dalkvist hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sigvard Tunström in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Boris Malmgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pär Hultman hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Sune Dalkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jimmy-Floyd Udden took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Boris Malmgren. Minnesbergs IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sven-Ove Fredriksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boris Malmgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sven-Ove Fredriksson ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Sigvard Tunström managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Giroud's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigvard Tunström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boris Malmgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 31 minutes, Sigvard Tunström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Giroud's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sigvard Tunström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sigvard Tunström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Boris Malmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Pär Hultman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Minnesbergs IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Giroud the free kick. Boris Malmgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zebastian Fernström in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Douglas Meriti to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of FC Giroud booed when Minnesbergs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pär Hultman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute of the match Zebastian Fernström shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Boris Malmgren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Allan Arenstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sune Dalkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the game, Minnesbergs IF's Fabiano Portov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Allan Arenstedt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Allan Arenstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Portov, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, FC Giroud's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano Portov came free, but Allan Arenstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Douglas Meriti in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Allan Arenstedt saved FC Giroud from getting behind. If Fabiano Portov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87thth minute of the game Douglas Meriti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Giroud's Allan Arenstedt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Allan Arenstedt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabiano Portov's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Sune Dalkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sune Dalkvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Giroud booed when Minnesbergs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sune Dalkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Giroud's Zebastian Fernström couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Minnesbergs IF. Minnesbergs IF's Boris Malmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigvard Tunström in the 95th minute of play. Minnesbergs IF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
