When Kacper Pozorski came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the IFK Ranger fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kacper Pozorski couldn't finish the play. Hans Browall hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Djurgårdens IF's Tomas Vennerlund threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Charlie Hellkvist, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 33 minutes, Vidar Lustig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Ranger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vidar Lustig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Djurgårdens IF's zone, Gustaf Boström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jörgen Lundhberg came out of the goal and Gustaf Boström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vidar Lustig struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Jörgen Lundhberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IFK Ranger. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Kacper Pozorski managed to get in a good position for a shot. IFK Ranger's supporters rose to their feet, but Kacper Pozorski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jörgen Lundhberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Vidar Lustig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. IFK Ranger's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Saleh Saleh in the 49th minute. The corner led IFK Ranger's Saleh Saleh to fire away a dangerous shot which Jörgen Lundhberg despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Vidar Lustig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jörgen Lundhberg having to interfere. Gustaf Boström might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jörgen Lundhberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaf Boström ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 63rd match minute, Djurgårdens IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Skålberg to maneuver through the defense. If Kacper Pozorski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of IFK Ranger booed when Djurgårdens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Martinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. IFK Ranger's Vidar Lustig got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kacper Pozorski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jörgen Lundhberg having to interfere. IFK Ranger's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
