To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Spets in the 45th minute of play forced FC Calmare's goalkeeper Torgny Nyberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Lundberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Ljungby BK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alf Spets stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 51 in the game by Kurt Lundberg from a close distance when the talented Torgny Nyberg managed to make a qualified save. FC Calmare's players were relieved. 57 minutes into the match, Kurt Lundberg notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of FC Calmare's Torgny Nyberg. Torgny Nyberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kurt Lundberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Torgny Nyberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. During the 78th minute of the match Isac Danielsson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Isac Danielsson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Isac Danielsson hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes, Ljungby BK's Jan-Olof Lindman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Torgny Nyberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ljungby BK reached it. Torgny Nyberg stood somewhat misplaced when Alf Spets came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 86 minute. A collision led to FC Calmare getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Tor Deckbergh hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Kurt Lundberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ljungby BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurt Lundberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torgny Nyberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
