The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Jakobsson in the 4th minute of play. In the 9th minute Zebastian Lööf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Åke Jakobsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Jernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andreas Jakobsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Jörgen Mellberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monroeville Zombies and the Perspolis FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andy Tillman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 minutes of play Monroeville Zombies's Jörgen Mellberg was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 22 played minutes Monroeville Zombies got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Mellberg. 26 minutes into the game, Perspolis FC's Andreas Jakobsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Jernberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eric Jernberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Jakobsson in the 30th minute of the match. Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sture Sandström in the 32nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olof Källberg during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Monroeville Zombies's Olof Källberg got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Eric Jernberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Hammarström in the 35th minute of the match.

Andy Tillman hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Hjalmar Abrahamsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Monroeville Zombies's Hjalmar Abrahamsson got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Monroeville Zombies's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Jakobsson came free, but Eric Jernberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Sture Sandström lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Eric Jernberg. After a rather tough play, Perspolis FC's Sture Sandström got a free kick in the 71st minute. Sture Sandströms short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Eric Jernberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Monroeville Zombies from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sture Sandström got free with Eric Jernberg in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Monroeville Zombies's Hjalmar Abrahamsson got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Perspolis FC's Frank Termander was substituted for Wictor Gustafsson. After 91 played minutes Monroeville Zombies got a freekick which was hit by Zebastian Lööf. 92 minutes into the match, Joakim Melberg sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Eric Jernberg threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Joakim Melberg this time. Eric Jernberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andreas Jakobsson in the 95th minute of play. Perspolis FC played a much better game than Monroeville Zombies and deserved their victory. The Monroeville Zombies players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
