The supporters of Irak booed when Tottenham FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olof Sandström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Irak's Bernt Tinglöv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olof Sandström in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Vilhelm Bengtsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Stig Helander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Lars Rolandsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes, Carl Åkerberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Irak and the Tottenham FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stig Helander was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Lars Rolandsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lars Rolandsson really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Bernt Tinglöv took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald Ahlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Irak's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wiktor Andersson was slow to take the kick. During this time Tottenham FC's players had a chance to rest. Wiktor Andersson made a great header on Tottenham FC's corner, it was just that Irak's Bernt Tinglöv managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 37th minute Harald Ahlgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Tinglöv saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Rolandsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lars Rolandsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lars Rolandsson in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stig Helander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stig Helander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Rolandsson in the 53rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Harald Ahlgren put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bernt Tinglöv. Kjell Fagrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stig Helander having to interfere. After 70 played minutes Tottenham FC got a freekick which was hit by Markus Finman. Vilhelm Bengtsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stig Helander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Irak's Lars Rolandsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stig Helander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 77 minutes, Harald Ahlgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tottenham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harald Ahlgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lars Rolandsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Lars Rolandsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Irak fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After having played for 90 minutes, Lars Rolandsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Irak's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars Rolandsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Irak fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tottenham FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
