With an all-out effort, Åsele's Jan-Erik Mårtensson threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tobias Simonsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 30th minute, Johan Bergfeldt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ljungaverk's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Tobias Simonsson scored to the left of an out of position Jan-Erik Mårtensson, making the score, 1-0. In the 34th play minute Henric Forssell came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jan-Erik Mårtensson. 2-0. In the 37th minute, Tobias Simonsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Åsele fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 41 minutes into the match, Ljungaverk's goal looked a bit too open when Knut Dalberg came free, but Jan-Erik Mårtensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johan Bergfeldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hannes Lundblad charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hannes Lundblad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Karl-Åke Stenman got in the 49th minute a good position and tried a long shot which to a great surprise passed a very astonished Jan-Erik Mårtensson. This was a shot which ended in a score of 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tobias Simonsson made a kick off. When Henry Odman got free in front of the goal in the 56th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jan-Erik Mårtensson was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ljungaverk's Jan-Erik Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Knut Dalberg in the 57th minute of play. Åsele's Rune Göransson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Åsele from getting a goal against them. Sören Esbjörnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Göransson having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Niklas Nyqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ljungaverk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niklas Nyqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Ljungaverk's Sören Esbjörnsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-1. After 75 played minutes Åsele got a freekick which was hit by Vidar Alströmer. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henric Forssell in the 77th minute of play forced Ljungaverk's goalkeeper Jan-Erik Mårtensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niklas Nyqvist's late challenge caught a Åsele's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niklas Nyqvist helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute Tobias Simonsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Erik Mårtensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Michael Skog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan-Erik Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henric Forssell, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Jan-Erik Mårtensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Knut Dalberg in the 85th minute of play. Jan-Erik Mårtensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Stenström in the 87th minute of the match. Jan-Erik Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Simonsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 93 minutes into the game, Walter Stenström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Åsele's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ljungaverk the free kick. Walter Stenström hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ljungaverk booed when Åsele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Knut Dalberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Åsele were victorious despite being under pressure from Ljungaverk for much of the match.
