After a rather tough play, The Kop Boys's Rolf Bock got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Martin Eskilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th match minute, The Kop Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilhelm Eliasson to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Oskar Zachrisson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Kenny Åkerman made a huge save. After 87 minutes of play, Malmö FF's Gunnar Nordström made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kenny Åkerman was left in no man's land by his defense there! 94 minutes into the match, Martin Eskilsson notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of The Kop Boys's Kenny Åkerman. Kenny Åkerman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Malmö FF fully deserved thier win.
