Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jesper Larsfelt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Vargön IFK's Evert Sandberg got a free kick in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Evert Sandberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vargön IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vänersborg BF the free kick. The supporters of Vänersborg BF booed when Vargön IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Sandberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvard Pihlgren charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edvard Pihlgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 22 played minutes Vänersborg BF got a freekick which was hit by Edvard Pihlgren. Fred Berglund received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. In the 45th minute, Alex Söderkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Karl-Magnus Axelsson hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Filip Lagerberg, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 85th minute, Edvard Pihlgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sigvard Browall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Söderkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesper Larsfelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Ersman in the 90th minute of the match. Urban Bohlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesper Larsfelt having to interfere. Jesper Larsfelt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Berglund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Vänersborg BF had won after a very even match.
