The supporters of Elvendale booed when Strömsnäsbruk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Kvick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marko Sandström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ralf Törnkvist went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 41 minutes into the match, Erik Kvick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Herbert Friberger. Elvendale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erik Kvick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Erik Kvicks short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Herbert Friberger to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingvar Harlén stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ingvar Harlén fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marko Sandström having to interfere. In the 60th minute Hugo Dalman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Friberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
