Arvid Ros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Erik Fredriksson having to interfere. Jim Danielsson's late challenge caught a Blue Hearts's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Danielsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Lokomotiv Ekhagen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jim Danielsson to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Erik Fredriksson made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Robert Magnusson sent off a good shot on target. Christer Gullesson struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Jan-Erik Fredriksson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Hearts. 33 minutes in the game, Arvid Ros fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jan-Erik Fredriksson having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Robert Magnusson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue Hearts's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Magnusson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Erik Fredriksson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alvin Månsson fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lokomotiv Ekhagen's protests and gave Alvin Månsson a yellow card for diving instead. Blue Hearts's Robert Magnusson got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute Jim Danielsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Käller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Christer Gullesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Magnusson to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Torgny Asplund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Asplund in the 61st minute of play forced Blue Hearts's goalkeeper Arne Käller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jim Danielsson got free with Arne Käller in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jan-Erik Fredriksson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robert Magnusson's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. In the 72nd minute, Robert Magnusson made a precise shot to the right of Jan-Erik Fredriksson. Lokomotiv Ekhagen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. When Blue Hearts's Robert Magnusson in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jan-Erik Fredriksson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 86 played minutes Lokomotiv Ekhagen got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Ove Åström. In the 87th minute Christer Gullesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Erik Fredriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Magnusson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jan-Erik Fredriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan-Erik Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Magnusson in the 94th minute of the match. If Robert Magnusson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that Blue Hearts were the better team. Blue Hearts's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
