In the 5th minute, Karl-Johan Nässén fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jan-Åke Andersson, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Obbola getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Karl-Johan Nässén hit a great ball. The supporters of Simlångsdalen booed when Obbola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erling Sjögren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leif Rolandsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Åke Andersson having to interfere. After 14 minutes, Bengt-Rune Askstedt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Simlångsdalen and the Obbola players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, Bengt-Rune Askstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Leif Rolandsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Bergman in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alf Majman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th match minute, Obbola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Johan Nässén to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunnar Trulsson in the 31st minute of play forced Obbola's goalkeeper Alf Majman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Simlångsdalen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yngve Ingemarsson to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Åke Andersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Rolandsson in the 34th minute of play. Jan-Åke Andersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Oskar Alebom in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Bengt-Rune Askstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Oskar Alebom in the 46th minute of play forced Simlångsdalen's goalkeeper Jan-Åke Andersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliver Bergman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Leif Rolandsson made a precise shot to the right of Jan-Åke Andersson. Simlångsdalen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Carl Almstedt took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Alf Majman to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Obbola's Erling Sjögren got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Leif Rolandsson's late challenge caught a Simlångsdalen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leif Rolandsson helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes Obbola got a freekick which was hit by Leif Rolandsson. The crowd rose to their feet as Oliver Bergman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alf Majman. That made the score 1-2 in the 78 minute of play. Leif Rolandsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Åke Andersson having to interfere. Leif Rolandsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Jan-Åke Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Johan Nässén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Karl-Oskar Alebom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Obbola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. A sloppy throw-in by Kenneth Hellkvist in the 91st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Obbola's Sven-Arne Mogren. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
