Gyttorp's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathias Ivarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ture Sörman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. John Brander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Harman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Sävar IK's Biagio Masciarelli slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of John Brander. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. Gabriel Eliasson charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Eliasson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Gyttorp booed when Sävar IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Eliasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Mathias Ivarsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biagio Masciarelli in the 43rd minute of play forced Gyttorp's goalkeeper John Brander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olov Runeberg hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias Ivarsson couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the game, Nils-Åke Ahlberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sävar IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gyttorp the free kick. After 63 played minutes Sävar IK got a freekick which was hit by Nils-Åke Ahlberg. With a little luck, Sävar IK's Ture Sörman got control of the ball when Harry Ahlquist tried to sneak it across the goal line.
