The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Nyman got free with Per-Erik Mogren in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eric Nyman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Per-Erik Mogren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Arne Fastesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Ersman, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After having played for 21 minutes, Manfred Bröms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glenns Unajted's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manfred Bröms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Carl Ersman notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of West Bromwich Albion's Arne Fastesson. Arne Fastesson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arne Fastesson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Bröms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Carl Ersman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After having played for 57 minutes, Manfred Bröms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glenns Unajted's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manfred Bröms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Glenns Unajted's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Nyman came free, but Per-Erik Mogren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 played minutes Glenns Unajted got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Westerberg. West Bromwich Albion's Arne Fastesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Ersman in the 75th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Glenns Unajted's Roger Ahlén got a free kick in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Nyman in the 80th minute of play forced Glenns Unajted's goalkeeper Per-Erik Mogren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfred Bröms's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Arne Fastesson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jörgen Petersson in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Per-Erik Mogren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. West Bromwich Albion's Jörgen Petersson got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carl Ersman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Fastesson having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Manfred Bröms left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Glenns Unajted fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 94th minute, Manfred Bröms got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Glenns Unajted's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
