The audience was convinced that Jörgen Petersson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ingmar Olsman was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. 40 minutes into the game, Brian Smedfeldt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hyllinge RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave West Bromwich Albion the free kick. In the 40th minute, one of Hyllinge RK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hyllinge RK. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Brian Smedfeldt hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörgen Petersson in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ingmar Olsman saved Hyllinge RK from getting behind. If Eric Nyman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ingmar Olsman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörgen Petersson in the 59th minute of play. After 64 played minutes Hyllinge RK got a freekick which was hit by Brian Smedfeldt. If Eric Nyman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. In the 69th minute, Jörgen Petersson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ingmar Olsman, passed just outside the right post. Eric Nyman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingmar Olsman having to interfere. In the 74th minute Jörgen Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingmar Olsman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jörgen Petersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hyllinge RK's Ingmar Olsman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Hyllinge RK from getting a goal against them. Isak Samuelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
