Screaming Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Pihlwall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ingvar Lindell fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Las Vikas's protests and gave Ingvar Lindell a yellow card for diving instead. Ingvar Lindell hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Karl-Magnus Åberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Pihlwall in the 17th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Las Vikas defense, Allan Hammarberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Magnus Åberg. The Las Vikas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Magnus Åberg should have stopped the shot. Karl-Magnus Åberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Allan Hammarberg's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Karl-Magnus Åberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Pihlwall, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 62nd minute August Mickelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Snorre Ollongren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd match minute, Screaming Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Ove Skager to maneuver through the defense. Per Grubb's late challenge caught a Las Vikas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Per Grubb helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, Screaming Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per Grubb to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Lindell in the 94th minute of play forced Screaming Eagles's goalkeeper Snorre Ollongren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the game, George Wahlnäs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Las Vikas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Screaming Eagles the free kick.
