Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Joakim Rolandsson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Robert Lagerberg came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Göteborg FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Lagerberg couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Jörn Haeger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peter Karlberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Sernard FC's zone, Bengt Granström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Karlberg came out of the goal and Bengt Granström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonatan Majman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malte Almkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joakim Rolandsson got free with Peter Karlberg in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peter Karlberg made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Jonny Zachrisson sent off a good shot on target. Jörn Haeger charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jörn Haeger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 26 minutes into the game, Jonny Zachrisson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Peter Karlberg. Jonny Zachrisson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When Martin Söderström fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Göteborg FC's protests and gave Martin Söderström a yellow card for diving instead. Jörn Haeger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Peter Karlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robert Lagerberg during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 38 minutes into the match, Sernard FC's goalkeeper Peter Karlberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jörn Haeger. With a little luck, Sernard FC's Peter Karlberg got control of the ball when Jörn Haeger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peter Karlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Lagerberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute, Ola Gulliksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joakim Rolandsson was extremely unlucky when he, in the 48th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After a rather tough play, Sernard FC's Malte Almkvist got a free kick in the 55th minute. Jonatan Majman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Andersson in the 58th minute of play. Sernard FC's Peter Karlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joakim Rolandsson in the 60th minute of play. Christian Skager's late challenge caught a Göteborg FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian Skager helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, Christian Skager hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peter Karlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörn Haeger in the 68th minute of the match. Tim Andersson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Joakim Rolandsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Karlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonny Zachrisson's late challenge caught a Sernard FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonny Zachrisson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Jonny Zachrisson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Sernard FC booed when Göteborg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt Granström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jörn Haeger struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Peter Karlberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Göteborg FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Robert Lagerberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Göteborg FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Lagerberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Karlberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 91 minutes into the match, Sernard FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Lagerberg came free, but Peter Karlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joakim Rolandsson took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Karlberg. Peter Karlberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Göteborg FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
