The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Göteborg FC. When the match had been going on for 15 minutes, Lilla Skania's Ulf Hjeltman got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jonatan Majman. After some careless play in the Göteborg FC defense, Flavius Encea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonatan Majman. The Göteborg FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonatan Majman should have stopped the shot. Jonatan Majman was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Flavius Encea capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Flavius Encea really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Lilla Skania's Ulf Hjeltman got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonatan Majman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anders Asplund in the 30th minute of the match. Anders Asplund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Jonatan Majman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Göteborg FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jörn Haeger hit a great ball. After 38 minutes, Sven-Olof Pettersson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lilla Skania and the Göteborg FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Robert Lagerberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Agne Johnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Lilla Skania's Jonatan Majman threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sven-Olof Pettersson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Göteborg FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Anders Asplund scored to the left of an out of position Jonatan Majman, making the score, 5-1.

52 minutes into the match, Göteborg FC's Robert Lagerberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agne Johnsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Lilla Skania getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ulf Hjeltman hit a great ball. Martin Söderström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sven-Olof Pettersson got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Agne Johnsson was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Jonny Zachrisson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jonny Zachrisson really showed his touch with that goal: 5-2. When Robert Lagerberg came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Göteborg FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Lagerberg couldn't finish the play. Lilla Skania's Jens-Ola Pedersson was substituted for Joakim Wennerquist. The supporters of Lilla Skania booed when Göteborg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonny Zachrisson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonny Zachrisson ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Lilla Skania getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Flavius Encea hit a great ball. Lilla Skania's Tommy Wiklund was substituted for Michael Stabbe. Flavius Encea hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Jonny Zachrisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ulf Hjeltman fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lilla Skania's protests and gave Ulf Hjeltman a yellow card for diving instead. Jörn Haeger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lilla Skania's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
