Morgan Gulliksson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vilhelm Säfström charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vilhelm Säfström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Västra Ämtervik booed when Carolus Rex was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vilhelm Säfström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bror Sundström struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Morgan Gulliksson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Västra Ämtervik. The supporters of Carolus Rex booed when Västra Ämtervik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folke Nordkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tord Engström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georg Lööf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Västra Ämtervik were furious when Kristian Lundström was red carded, 38 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Västra Ämtervik fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Västra Ämtervik's Folke Nordkvist managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcus Bure in the 44 minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Carolus Rex's Jens-Erik Kjellberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tord Engström. That made the score 2-0 after 47 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jens-Erik Kjellberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Erik Kjellberg in the 55th minute of play forced Västra Ämtervik's goalkeeper Tord Engström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Georg Lööf notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Västra Ämtervik's Tord Engström. Tord Engström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Västra Ämtervik's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jens-Erik Kjellberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Jens-Erik Kjellberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tord Engström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jens-Erik Kjellberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Tord Engström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jens-Erik Kjellberg went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Carolus Rex had won after a very even match.
