In the 7th minute Ion Patrichi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Glanselius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Åshöjden getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Per-Arne Viklund hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Åshöjden's goal looked a bit too open when Martial Ducreux came free, but Victor Glanselius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Glanselius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martial Ducreux in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nusnäs IK's zone, Per-Arne Viklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agne Lundin came out of the goal and Per-Arne Viklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute, Martial Ducreux left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nusnäs IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the Åshöjden defense, Ion Patrichi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victor Glanselius. The Åshöjden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Glanselius should have stopped the shot. Agne Lundin made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Jens-Åke Kilman sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the game, Nusnäs IK's Martial Ducreux nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Glanselius made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After 44 minutes of play, Nusnäs IK's Martial Ducreux made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victor Glanselius was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Åshöjden players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Nusnäs IK were winning 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Per-Arne Viklund to make the kick off. Victor Glanselius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martial Ducreux in the 52nd minute. Nusnäs IK's Agne Lundin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Åke Kilman in the 54th minute of play. Per-Arne Viklund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Agne Lundin having to make a save. Alan Tombeur hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Agne Lundin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Åke Kilman in the 62nd minute of the match. Per-Arne Viklund took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agne Lundin. Agne Lundin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Alan Tombeur hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Åshöjden's Jens-Åke Kilman got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Jens-Åke Kilman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åshöjden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jens-Åke Kilman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agne Lundin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Arne Viklund in the 82nd minute of the match. Nusnäs IK made a substitution. Ove Browald replaced Alf Brodin. In the 90th minute, Per-Arne Viklund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agne Lundin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. The audience was convinced that Per-Arne Viklund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Agne Lundin was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. The supporters of Åshöjden booed when Nusnäs IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kennet Molin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
