Per-Olof Bocklund made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Elof Åhlberg sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

54 minutes into the game, Hekto IF's Torbjörn Martinsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Greger Rudberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Elof Åhlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Olof Bocklund having to interfere. Giffarna's Jonny Hafström suffered a concussion after 66 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Hägglund during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 66th minute, one of Hekto IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hekto IF. Per-Olof Bocklund went to the wrong direction when Aaron Nyström was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Elof Åhlberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Per-Olof Bocklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hekto IF's Björn Lilja got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Torbjörn Martinsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Greger Rudberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hekto IF's Sture Göransson got a free kick in the 89th minute.
