Hägernäs IK's Sixten Åberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Hägernäs IK from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Seed booed when Hägernäs IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Stålberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Staffan Kollberg's late challenge caught a Seed's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ingmar Vallander really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 22nd match minute, Seed was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingvar Bergvall to maneuver through the defense. After 25 minutes of play, Seed's Roland Wester made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sixten Åberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Hägernäs IK's Teofilo Oihan got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 29 played minutes, Seed's Stig Fredriksson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sixten Åberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Seed reached it. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Sixten Åberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. John Biörkman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Hägernäs IK's Adam Gabrielsson got a free kick in the 39th minute. After 42 minutes, Stig Fredriksson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Seed and the Hägernäs IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingmar Vallander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hägernäs IK's Sixten Åberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingmar Vallander in the 55th minute of play. The coaching staff of Hägernäs IK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sven-Åke Lidman had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
