The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ulf Söderberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rahman Timurtas, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Sjötorp IFK's Czeslaw Osielski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ulf Söderberg. That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. A collision led to Sjötorp IFK getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Lei Xiao Jian hit a great ball. If Henrik Rõõmussaar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulf Söderberg was a little too slow when Davide Di Tommaso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 3-0. When Sjötorp IFK's Czeslaw Osielski in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AIK's goalie prevented a goal. 24 minutes into the game, Czeslaw Osielski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ulf Söderberg. Czeslaw Osielski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Davide Di Tommaso took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Ulf Söderberg to make any attempt to save it. AIK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Rahman Timurtas scored to the left of an out of position Ulf Söderberg, making the score, 6-0. Henrik Rõõmussaar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvar Thorsberg having to interfere. Henrik Rõõmussaar kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Rahman Timurtas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulf Söderberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rahman Timurtas in the 40th minute of play. Ulf Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaffar Nabi in the 41st minute of the match. A collision led to Sjötorp IFK getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Wilhelm Kilberg hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sjötorp IFK's Roland Linquist got a free kick in the 44th minute. Sjötorp IFK's Alvar Thorsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rune Påk in the 45th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in AIK's zone, Gaffar Nabi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulf Söderberg came out of the goal and Gaffar Nabi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sjötorp IFK's Davide Di Tommaso was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 48th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.

AIK's attentive Halim Saïdi-Sief managed to snatch the ball when Sven-Olof Grubb made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. Tor-Magnus Knutsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Alvar Thorsberg made a huge save. In the 65th minute Davide Di Tommaso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Söderberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Rahman Timurtas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sjötorp IFK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Kristian Vallmark's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvar Thorsberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Ulf Söderberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davide Di Tommaso in the 77th minute of play. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gaffar Nabi was slow to take the kick. During this time Sjötorp IFK's players had a chance to rest. 81 minutes into the match, AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Davide Di Tommaso came free, but Ulf Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
