In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Överlida's goalkeeper Hans Gruber, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Evert Öman made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Överlida's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Thedin came free, but Hans Gruber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Allan Thedin came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Northern Lights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Thedin couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kaj Mattsson in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans Gruber saved Överlida from getting behind. After 70 minutes, Lennart Nyberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Överlida and the Northern Lights players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Lennart Nyberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Överlida defense, Kaj Mattsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hans Gruber. The Överlida fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hans Gruber should have stopped the shot. Hans Gruber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaj Mattsson in the 75th minute of play. Kaj Mattsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hans Gruber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Northern Lights's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Evert Öman scored to the left of an out of position Sigvard Ingvall, making the score, 4-2.
