Karl-Ove Kjellbom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaj Mattsson's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute Northern Lights were awarded a corner. Rune Ekman went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Ekman in the 11th minute of play forced Sköllersta's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Kjellbom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Ove Kjellbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Thedin, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andreas Browald during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Andreas Browald hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the game, Benjamin Nyman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sigvard Ingvall was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Allan Thedin scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Ove Kjellbom, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sigvard Ingvall was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Andreas Browald showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 23 minute of play. When Benjamin Nyman came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Sköllersta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Nyman couldn't finish the play. After 27 played minutes Sköllersta got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Browald. Northern Lights's Sigvard Ingvall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Northern Lights from getting a goal against them. Karl-Ove Kjellbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Ekman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rune Ekman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Ove Kjellbom having to interfere. Sigvard Ingvall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Nyman in the 41st minute of play. Sköllersta's Karl-Ove Kjellbom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Thedin in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute Rune Ekman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Ove Kjellbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allan Thedin took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karl-Ove Kjellbom. Karl-Ove Kjellbom dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sten Fransson made a kick off. Benjamin Nyman hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Sköllersta's Karl-Ove Kjellbom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rune Ekman in the 60th minute of play. With a little luck, Sköllersta's Karl-Ove Kjellbom got control of the ball when Allan Thedin tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Kaj Mattsson fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Northern Lights's protests and gave Kaj Mattsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Northern Lights getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Kaj Mattsson hit a great ball. 68 minutes in the game, Kaj Mattsson fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Karl-Ove Kjellbom having to interfere. Pål Lindgren took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sigvard Ingvall. Northern Lights's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Karl-Ove Kjellbom successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Benjamin Nyman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Sigvard Ingvall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Morgan Duset charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Morgan Duset the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 77 minutes into the match, Sköllersta's Adam Collins broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 78 minutes into the match, Benjamin Nyman notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Northern Lights's Sigvard Ingvall. Sigvard Ingvall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sköllersta's Benjamin Nyman got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 88 played minutes Northern Lights got a freekick which was hit by Morgan Duset. Sköllersta's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
