Svaneholm's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SSC Bari the free kick. A collision led to Svaneholm getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Carl Hylander hit a great ball. In the 11thth minute of the game Sverker Lange who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Svaneholm's Sven-Erik Björk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 11 minutes, Gert Löfdahl mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Svaneholm and the SSC Bari players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 12 played minutes Svaneholm got a freekick which was hit by Gert Löfdahl. Sverker Lange received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Sven-Erik Björk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SSC Bari booed when Svaneholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Åke Anundsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tosh Goodwin might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Erik Björk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tosh Goodwin ran back to his position shaking his head. Sven-Erik Björk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sverker Lange in the 21st minute of the match. Tosh Goodwins short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Sven-Erik Björk to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as SSC Bari's Sverker Lange slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sven-Erik Björk. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. Sven-Erik Björk stood somewhat misplaced when Sverker Lange came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 27 minute. Tosh Goodwin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Sven-Erik Björk when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tosh Goodwin had several of the Svaneholm's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 36 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Sven-Erik Björk as he didn't even see the shot coming. Svaneholm's Sven-Erik Björk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sverker Lange in the 39th minute of play. The SSC Bari fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when SSC Bari's Tosh Goodwin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. SSC Bari's Tosh Goodwin got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Niklas Lundin's late challenge caught a SSC Bari's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niklas Lundin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Svaneholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niklas Lundin to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tosh Goodwin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Sverker Lange who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Svaneholm's Sven-Erik Björk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tosh Goodwin in the 54th minute of play forced Svaneholm's goalkeeper Sven-Erik Björk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Sverker Lange's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sven-Erik Björk was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Tosh Goodwin scored 6-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sven-Erik Björk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jimmy Eckegren's late challenge caught a Svaneholm's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jimmy Eckegren helped the player get up and apologised. Jimmy Eckegren kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Tosh Goodwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Svaneholm's zone, Sverker Lange stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Erik Björk came out of the goal and Sverker Lange tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th minute Tosh Goodwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Erik Björk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute of the match, Agne Berg got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vincent Blakeley was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sverker Lange fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Erik Björk having to interfere. In the 98th match minute, SSC Bari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Bruse to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that SSC Bari were the better team. SSC Bari's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
