The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Elof Heggert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stig-Åke Gulliksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Erik Björk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stig-Åke Gulliksson ran back to his position shaking his head. 9 minutes into the match, Mean Machines FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Åke Anundsson came free, but Fred Melin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fred Melin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Åke Anundsson in the 14th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roy Askstedt during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Svaneholm's Roy Askstedt got a free kick in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Svaneholm's goal looked a bit too open when Patrik Lundqvist came free, but Sven-Erik Björk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fred Melin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Åke Anundsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th match minute, Mean Machines FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elof Heggert to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute Carl Hylander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Melin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stig-Åke Gulliksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simon Stor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Erik Björk having to interfere. Simon Stor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Sven-Erik Björk made a huge save. Stig-Åke Gulliksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mean Machines FC's Fred Melin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Askstedt in the 45th minute of play. Elof Heggert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Sven-Åke Anundsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Fred Melin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Erik Björk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Åke Gulliksson in the 54th minute of the match. Fred Melin made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Roy Askstedt sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rd play minute Carl Hylander came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fred Melin. 1-1. Sven-Erik Björk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Stor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frans Levander hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute of the match Patrik Lundqvist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven-Erik Björk skillfully saved the ball. In the 77th minute Roy Askstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Melin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Askstedt in the 79th minute of play forced Mean Machines FC's goalkeeper Fred Melin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred Melin made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Agne Berg sent off a good shot on target. Fred Melin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Hylander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Simon Stor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Svaneholm's Sven-Erik Björk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Åke Gulliksson in the 83rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Sven-Åke Anundsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fred Melin. That made the score 1-2 in the 88 minute of play. After some careless play in the Mean Machines FC defense, Roy Askstedt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fred Melin. The Mean Machines FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fred Melin should have stopped the shot. The Svaneholm supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Svaneholm would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
