The audience was convinced that Mårten Hammarbäck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Édouard Mendy was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Opilano Corujo made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Mårten Hammarbäck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fiskarnas BK and the AIK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Fiskarnas BK's Mårten Hammarbäck got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Édouard Mendy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Åke Nyberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, AIK's Daniel Åkesson got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 92nd minute Mårten Hammarbäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Édouard Mendy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Opilano Corujo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AIK's Daniel Åkesson got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded AIK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fiskarnas BK.
