The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bo-Erik Vik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Oskar Ekström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 13 minutes, André Brandin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bäckby FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Brandin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sigvard Backman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kurt Zachrisson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sigvard Backman scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bo-Erik Vik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. William Eklund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If William Eklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bäckby FK's Bo-Erik Vik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Zachrisson in the 34th minute of play. Sigvard Backman scored 0-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bo-Erik Vik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Kurt Zachrisson sped through Bäckby FK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bo-Erik Vik. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when André Brandin made the kick off in the second half. André Brandin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute, William Eklund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Bäckby FK's Bo-Erik Vik got control of the ball when Kurt Zachrisson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sigvard Backman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Bo-Erik Vik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Loverpool getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Felix Lindqvist hit a great ball. Sigvard Backman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Bo-Erik Vik made a huge save. 84 minutes into the match, Bäckby FK's goal looked a bit too open when Hannes Vesterberg came free, but Bo-Erik Vik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Loverpool getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Hannes Vesterberg hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Kurt Vik sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Loverpool's Stefan Kilberg didn't even have to move. Sigvard Backman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bo-Erik Vik having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Loverpool walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
