Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ivar Malmström made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 4th minute Kurt Häger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vidar Salqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vrigstad BF's Arne Molin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivar Malmström in the 5th minute of play. Stig-Ove Lindberg hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Vrigstad BF's goal looked a bit too open when Arvid Örtendahl came free, but Arne Molin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Hagström kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Arvid Örtendahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Molin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Christer Granström fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vrigstad BF's protests and gave Christer Granström a yellow card for diving instead. Sven-Åke Valler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th match minute, Månstad IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elof Biörkquist to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Henry Falkrantz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Engström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Vidar Salqvist made a huge save. 27 minutes into the match, Ivar Malmström notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Vrigstad BF's Arne Molin. Arne Molin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Henning Kling charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henning Kling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes Månstad IK got a freekick which was hit by Henning Kling. Kurt Häger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Vidar Salqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kurt Häger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute Ivar Malmström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Molin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Månstad IK's goalkeeper Vidar Salqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan Engström. In the 39th minute, Vrigstad BF's Jan Engström dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 42 minutes into the game, Jan Engström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Vidar Salqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arne Molin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Malmström, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 47th match minute, Månstad IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henning Kling to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Vrigstad BF booed when Månstad IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Kling didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan Engström made a kick off. Arne Molin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leif Alfors in the 53rd minute of the match. Leif Alfors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Arne Molin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Edmund Stensson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Månstad IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmund Stensson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Molin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan Engström struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Vidar Salqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vrigstad BF. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Engström in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vidar Salqvist saved Månstad IK from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Engström in the 68th minute of play forced Månstad IK's goalkeeper Vidar Salqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Engström in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vidar Salqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kurt Häger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Vrigstad BF's goal looked a bit too open when Edmund Stensson came free, but Arne Molin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vrigstad BF's Jan-Erik Rang was substituted for Jan Engström. After taking down the ball on Vrigstad BF's corner Niklas Lövgren fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vidar Salqvist quite easily take care of the ball. If Kim Uggla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niklas Lövgren took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vidar Salqvist. Månstad IK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arne Molin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmund Stensson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Månstad IK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vrigstad BF.
