In the 27th minute, Daho Arrache ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michael Walroth was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Benjamin Kämpe's late challenge caught a Tanumshede FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Kämpe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd match minute, Varnhem IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Kämpe to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingmar Melin in the 40th minute of play forced Varnhem IK's goalkeeper Aron Arhenius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Benjamin Kämpe made a precise shot to the right of Michael Walroth. Tanumshede FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Varnhem IK were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daho Arrache was the one to do the kick off. Aron Arhenius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingmar Melin in the 55th minute of the match. Robin Lidberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Aron Arhenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aron Arhenius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingmar Melin in the 67th minute of the match. Aron Arhenius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingmar Melin in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Tanumshede FF's Jerry Ekström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aron Arhenius narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sven Månsson's late challenge caught a Tanumshede FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven Månsson helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Håkan Lindgren in the 81st minute of play forced Varnhem IK's goalkeeper Aron Arhenius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aron Arhenius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ingmar Melin's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Varnhem IK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
