Skarsåsen IK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jan-Olof Nordström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georg Kjellbom in the 10th minute of the match. Roger Eliasson's late challenge caught a Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Eliasson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute Roger Eliasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörgen Malmström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georg Kjellbom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Olof Nordström having to interfere. When Allan Jönsson came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Jönsson couldn't finish the play. Georg Kjellbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Georg Kjellbom came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Kjellbom couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mats Lindholm made a kick off. Georg Kjellbom recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Skarsåsen IK's goalkeeper Jan-Olof Nordström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's Georg Kjellbom got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Georg Kjellbom dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jan-Olof Nordström, 1-3. Skarsåsen IK's Mats Lindholm suffered a sore knee after 82 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Georg Kjellbom fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's protests and gave Georg Kjellbom a yellow card for diving instead. Georg Kjellbom hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Alfred Pålsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skarsåsen IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. 95 minutes into the game, Lokomotiv Röda Stjärnan's Georg Kjellbom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jan-Olof Nordström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4.
