Johnny Sundberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andy Soned went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 10 minutes into the game, Andy Soned was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NY Rangers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tobo the free kick. In the 10th minute, Andy Soned hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnny Sundberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leif Bennet in the 13th minute of the match. Tobo's Johnny Sundberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Bennet in the 17th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Lennart Vidman could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Johnny Sundberg however easily saved by the left post. Tobo's Johnny Sundberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Tobo from getting a goal against them. Andy Soned might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johnny Sundberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andy Soned ran back to his position shaking his head. Leif Bennet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Johnny Sundberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, NY Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Bennet to maneuver through the defense. Johnny Sundberg made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Andy Soned sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, Tobo's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Bennet came free, but Johnny Sundberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute of the match, Jens Frykberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Johnny Sundberg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 38 played minutes Tobo got a freekick which was hit by Evert Ersman. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Leif Bennet took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Johnny Sundberg to make any attempt to save it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leif Bennet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Per-Arne Månsson took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Jesper Garvetti to make any attempt to save it. Johnny Sundberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Soned in the 56th minute of the match. Tobo's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernt Rudqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesper Garvetti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 72 minutes into the game, one of Tobo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Tobo getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Eric Sundström hit a great ball. Johnny Sundberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Soned, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Per-Arne Månsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 92 minutes into the match, Tobo's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Bennet came free, but Johnny Sundberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tobo's Johnny Sundberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennart Vidman in the 94th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernt Rudqvist during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. There was no doubt that NY Rangers were the better team. NY Rangers's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
