The referee showed Ian Rolandsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot 7 in the game by Svante Bollström from a close distance when the talented Martin Öman managed to make a qualified save. BUN Pöjkarna's players were relieved. When Claes Fransson fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IFK Göteborg's protests and gave Claes Fransson a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Claes Fransson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Åke Bergstedt in the 20th minute of play forced IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Östen Björkqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Östen Björkqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Rolandsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralf Walmarsson in the 24th minute of play forced BUN Pöjkarna's goalkeeper Martin Öman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BUN Pöjkarna's Martin Öman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf Walmarsson in the 33rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ralf Walmarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Öman was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. The supporters of IFK Göteborg booed when BUN Pöjkarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiph Bjursell didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Öman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in BUN Pöjkarna's zone, Claes Fransson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Öman came out of the goal and Claes Fransson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Morgan Vollander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Svante Bollström in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Öman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gert Petersson's late challenge caught a BUN Pöjkarna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gert Petersson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th minute, Gert Petersson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Svante Bollström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Öman having to make a save. In the 80th minute, Ralf Walmarsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The IFK Göteborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walter Östensson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the IFK Göteborg players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
