In the 6thth minute of the game Nils Kruuse who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Östra Värlinge's Magnus Fastesson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Nils Kruuse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, FC Östra Värlinge's goal looked a bit too open when Nils Kruuse came free, but Magnus Fastesson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henry Blomqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helge Sandell having to interfere. A collision led to Mölndal United getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Alex Åkesson hit a great ball. Göran Bäckman hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. A long shot from Egil Svensson in the 28th minute of play was well struck, but Helge Sandell made a really good save at the right post. In the 35th minute of the match Douglas Liljeström shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Helge Sandell showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tage Alfors kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Karl Jönsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ola Bergqvist to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, FC Östra Värlinge's Ola Bergqvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Helge Sandell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Henry Blomqvist struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Helge Sandell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Östra Värlinge. When Karl Jönsson came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Mölndal United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Jönsson couldn't finish the play. Nils Kruuse's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Magnus Fastesson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Hugo Göransson kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. FC Östra Värlinge's Ola Bergqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Henry Blomqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Helge Sandell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tage Alfors, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Magnus Fastesson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Jönsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
