The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Bengt Skoog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brian Pihlgren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folke Björck having to make a save. A collision led to Gourmet-Jacki BK getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Harry Josefsson hit a great ball. Folke Björck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Pihlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brian Pihlgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Folke Björck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Polly Magoo Juniors booed when Gourmet-Jacki BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urban Ahlbom didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Bengt Skoog got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Pihlgren in the 32nd minute of play forced Gourmet-Jacki BK's goalkeeper Folke Björck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gourmet-Jacki BK's Göran Hermansson got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 36 played minutes Gourmet-Jacki BK got a freekick which was hit by Urban Ahlbom. Göran Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Göran Hermansson took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peder Ahlrot. Peder Ahlrot dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Göran Hermansson to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt Skoog in the 55th minute of play forced Gourmet-Jacki BK's goalkeeper Folke Björck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Bengt Skoog managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Polly Magoo Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bengt Skoog was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Folke Björck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Pihlgren in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Harry Josefsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brian Pihlgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folke Björck having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Josef Lundgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gourmet-Jacki BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Polly Magoo Juniors the free kick. In the 70th minute, one of Gourmet-Jacki BK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gourmet-Jacki BK. The referee gave Polly Magoo Juniors a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Karl Blomkvist, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gourmet-Jacki BK's Folke Björck. 1-1. Kurt Holm took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Peder Ahlrot. Polly Magoo Juniors's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Folke Björck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt Skoog in the 76th minute of the match. Folke Björck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Pihlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 99th minute, Gourmet-Jacki BK's Göran Hermansson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Peder Ahlrot. Peder Ahlrot yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The Gourmet-Jacki BK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gourmet-Jacki BK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
