Fredrik Arenstedt hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Per-Erik Karlsson hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Peter Sikström was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gordon Strachan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink in the 15th minute of play forced St. Mellansjö FC's goalkeeper Peter Sikström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Leeds United FC's Gordon Strachan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 47th minute, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Peter Sikström. The goal made the score 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aaron Kvist was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of St. Mellansjö FC booed when Leeds United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gordon Strachan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Aaron Kvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peter Sikström. St. Mellansjö FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aaron Kvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0.
