Spectators: 7522 (Terracing: 5642, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Ian Apelquist started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Egil Granqvist came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Holken fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egil Granqvist couldn't finish the play. In the 5th minute Per-Åke Sandström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leif Spets saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Lundin charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Lundin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Slavia Uppsala booed when Holken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Lundin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Holken's Inge Falkrantz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Bergman in the 8th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Slavia Uppsala's goal looked a bit too open when Egil Granqvist came free, but Leif Spets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leif Spets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per-Åke Sandström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Slavia Uppsala's Joakim Löfgren seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Joakim Löfgren the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Slavia Uppsala protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Joakim Löfgren had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Slavia Uppsala! The supporters of Slavia Uppsala booed when Holken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt Löfkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt Löfkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Holken's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Arvid Brenner scored to the left of an out of position Inge Falkrantz, making the score, 1-1. A collision led to Holken getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Egil Granqvist hit a great ball. Bengt Löfkvist took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leif Spets. Leif Spets dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Slavia Uppsala's Henry Tidéksson got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Per-Åke Sandström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Holken's Inge Falkrantz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Bergman in the 39th minute of play. Ian Apelquists short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Inge Falkrantz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Leif Spets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Löfkvist in the 46th minute of play. Leif Spets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Lidström, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Lidström made a kick off. Inge Falkrantz came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Slavia Uppsala's Ian Apelquist. But to his dismay, Ian Apelquist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 54th match minute, Slavia Uppsala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Bergman to maneuver through the defense. Inge Falkrantz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Apelquist in the 56th minute of play. A collision led to Slavia Uppsala getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Kennet Bengtsson hit a great ball. After 59 played minutes Holken got a freekick which was hit by Bengt Löfkvist. Leif Spets made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Per-Åke Sandström sent off a good shot on target. Inge Falkrantz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ian Apelquist's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Håkan Bergman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ian Apelquist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Inge Falkrantz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ian Apelquist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Inge Falkrantz was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Samuel Lundin hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After having played for 79 minutes, Håkan Bergman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slavia Uppsala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Håkan Bergman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leif Spets had great luck who in the 84thth minute grab hold of the ball when Emanuel Lidström from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Slavia Uppsala's zone, Per-Åke Sandström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Spets came out of the goal and Per-Åke Sandström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 88 minutes, Ulf Moberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Holken and the Slavia Uppsala players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 88 played minutes Holken got a freekick which was hit by Ulf Moberg. Håkan Bergman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Inge Falkrantz. Holken's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Apelquist in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inge Falkrantz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd minute Håkan Bergman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inge Falkrantz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Holken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rutger Söderberg to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Emanuel Lidström took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Leif Spets to make any attempt to save it.
