Egon Fastesson made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Gunnar Söderkvist sent off a good shot on target. Jan Aleberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mårten Bållström went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 30th minute, Mårten Kilström made a precise shot to the right of Jan Aleberg. Helsingborgs IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mårten Bållström in the 34th minute of play forced Helsingborgs IF's goalkeeper Jan Aleberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Markus Pålsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When Gunnar Söderkvist came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Helsingborgs IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunnar Söderkvist couldn't finish the play. Egon Fastesson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Söderkvist in the 82nd minute of the match. When Rasmus Wiman fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Västerås BK's protests and gave Rasmus Wiman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th minute, Rasmus Wiman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hans Sundén struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Egon Fastesson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Helsingborgs IF. Västerås BK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
