After having played for 13 minutes, Gunnar Mattsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burträsk IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gunnar Mattsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulf Anundsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Fernkvist in the 16th minute of play. With a little luck, El Duderinos's Dennis Orioli got control of the ball when Gunnar Mattsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. When El Duderinos's Roman Gniewek in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Åke Fredriksson to strike the kick off in the second half. Patrik Hafström charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrik Hafström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Gunnar Mattsson came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Burträsk IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunnar Mattsson couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Åke Fredriksson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dennis Orioli was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. El Duderinos's Robert Fernkvist was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 83rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Robert Fernkvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulf Anundsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Fernkvist ran back to his position shaking his head. If Gunnar Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Duderinos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
